RESEARCH PAPER GUIDELINES

 You must choose a movie in which the main character or one of the main characters has a mental disorder we have covered or will cover in this course.

You must evaluate the following things about the character in the movie:

Does the movie depict the mental disorder accurately?
-What scenes, dialogue, etc. show this?  Be specific.
B.  Does the actor portray the mental disorder accurately?
-Is he/she believable?  Why or why not?
C.  What is the movie’s overall theme about the disorder and the people who have it?
D.  If your character is based on a real person or situation, how accurate was the movie to the real-life story of the person it portrays?
E.  Does the movie accurately depict the disorder’s impact on the person, the person’s
family/friends, and society in general? Explain why or why not.

You should use your book as one of your sources for this paper.  It is where you will get information about the symptoms/treatments/impact of the disorder.  The movie itself will also be a source.  Remember to cite both on your Works Cited page.  You must use APA format.

Remember, some of this is your opinion, but your opinion must be backed up with specific scenes, quotes, etc. from the move.
