Lesson 8 Discussion

This week’s lesson revolved around tests of ability and knowledge.  An often-utilized test in this arena is the Wonderlic Personnel Test.  Prior to responding to this week’s discussion questions, please take the sample Wonderlic provided to you in the Lesson 8 Discussion Forum Materials folder this week.  When taking the 20-item test, please follow the directions carefully in terms of time limits so you get a feel for the actual exam.  After you complete and view your test score , please discuss in 1-2 paragraphs the following:

1.  What are your thoughts on this test? Was it more difficult/less difficult than you anticipated? Which items did you struggle with? Did you learn anything about yourself taking this sample test that you did not already know? (8 points)
2. For which types of jobs do you think this test would be most useful? For which jobs would this test be least useful? Why? 7 points)

3 Points:

Postings should be evenly distributed during the discussion period (not concentrated all on one day or at the beginning and/or end of the period).
Postings should be a minimum of one short paragraph and a maximum of two paragraphs.

 7 Points:

Build on others’ responses to create threads. You must reply to at least 2 other postings within each discussion board. Guidelines on how to reply to your classmates’ posts:

Bring in related prior knowledge (work experience, prior coursework, readings, etc.)
Try to use quotes from the readings that support your postings. Include page numbers when you do that.
Avoid postings that are limited to 'I agree' or 'great idea', etc. If you agree (or disagree) with a posting then say why you agree by supporting  your statement with concepts from the readings or by bringing in a related example or experience.

Address the questions as much as possible (don't let the discussion stray).
