Abstract
The Air Force
Office of Special Investigations or AFOSI is a federal law enforcement and
investigative agencywho investigates a wide variety of serious offenses. Their
mission is to identify, exploit, and neutralize criminal terrorist and
intelligence threats to the Air Force, Department of Defense and U.S.
Government. Offenses that the AFOSI
investigates includes: espionage, terrorism, crimes against property, violence
against people, larceny, computer hacking, acquisition fraud, drug use and
distribution, financial misdeeds, military desertion, corruption of the
contracting process, and any other illegal activity that undermines the mission
of the U.S. Air Force or the Department of Defense. In this paper I will
discuss the department as a whole as well as their function, the mission of the
department, in addition to the multitude of crimes they investigate.
